Cancer unexpectedly transformed my life, imparting invaluable lessons that have shaped my journey as a producer. It all began on July 24, 2011, at 11 AM, when my niece jumped on me, triggering excruciating pain in my testicle. A frantic trip to The Hartford Hospital led to the life-altering diagnosis of testicular cancer. The doctor's words—“We believe it’s cancerous”—echoed in my mind, leaving me questioning, “Why me, God?”
After surgery to remove my left testicle, I faced the harsh reality that the cancer had spread to my lymph nodes, necessitating a challenging lymph node removal surgery and six grueling weeks of chemotherapy. Through this ordeal, I discovered the importance of resilience and the power of perseverance.
This newfound strength has enriched my work as a producer. Like my favorite hockey team, the Montreal Canadiens, I have encountered skepticism, but I rely on a calm mindset and unwavering foundation to create something extraordinary. Producing often involves making difficult decisions that may upset others, yet I strive to balance the needs of many while trusting my instincts to make the right choices.
Initially, I aspired to be a film director. In 2007, I directed a documentary titled “Autism,” which impressed my professor—an esteemed judge at the "Doc Fest" in Toronto—who remarked that my film would have won Best Short Documentary. This feedback filled me with pride, along with winning Best Portfolio at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Web Design and Interactive Media. However, my greatest achievement is completing my master’s degree in film production, making me the first in my family to earn this accolade.
While I cherish my academic and professional accomplishments, I also appreciate leisure. If I’m not at the movies—having watched over 1,000 films—you can find me indulging in classic movies on various streaming platforms. I also have a deep passion for hockey; the thrill of the game and the adrenaline rush are unparalleled. I can name every Stanley Cup champion since 1953, and I'm always ready for a spirited debate on the sport!
Additionally, I enjoy engaging with YouTube podcasts that discuss movies, offer trailer reactions, and feature fun challenges. Thank you for taking the time to learn about my story. I look forward to the possibility of conversations that align with my experiences and passions.
